Melinda McCoy-Miller received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied flute with Thomas Nyfenger and Harold Bennett. With majors in performance on flute and music education, she taught instrumental music in the Port Washington, NY school district prior to relocating to Sussex County. With more than thirty-five years of flute instruction experience behind her, Melinda is formerly an adjunct member of the Blair Academy teaching staff as well as flute professor at the County College of Morris. She currently performs and is on the board of the New Sussex Symphony, the Music Foundation of Sussex County, and the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council. Melinda is also very well known as an adjudicator for many competitions/honors band auditions.
